2009 National Park Service Clean-up

Boy Scouts prepare to fight off Alien Invaders

Our 4th annual attack on the alien invaders in the National Park service, our Good Turn for America project, is being combined with Earth Day. Actually Earth day is April 20th but we are celebrating on Saturday, April 18th in the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area in the same location we worked last year.

Our event last year was a resounding success with over 250 Scouts and Scouters involved. The National Park Service was amazed with how much work was done and how many alien invasive plants were removed from the park.

The 2009 event is coupled with Earth Day preparation. This is an excellent time to discuss with your boys the environmental issues.

Join us on April 18, 2009 in the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area at the Paces Mill site where the Chattahoochee River and Highway 41 intersect for a day of fun and hard work. Check the attached flyer, and share it with other Scouters. Mark your calendars.
